This page showcases my work in web design. There are examples here of pages created for class projects as well as for professional clients. All pages were created with Macromedia Dreamweaver and have been tested in Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari browsers. All links will open in a new window.
Willow Springs Profile Page
This is an example of a Willow Springs author profile page that I created. The goal was to create a clean layout that made sense with the rest of the Willow Springs website, which I maintained. In addition to writing the HTML and CSS code, I also designed all the template text images and did some basic editing of each author's bio and profile picture.
AIM: Movement or Mafia Event Website
This website was created for the event AIM: Movement or Mafia? Wounded Knee '73 and its Aftermath. I worked on this site as part of a three-member design team. A mockup poster I created was repurposed and tweaked for the website design. I also created the header and worked on the additional design needed for the links page. The site content came from other event promoters, though I did perform some light copyediting on the main figures page. The other website designers were Kristen Byers and Toni Grosinsky.
AND Holdings, LLC
This site was my first client work and was designed for AND Holdings, LLC, a property management company out of Lansing, MI. The client did not have any design specifications for me beyond color scheme, but I chose to keep the site simple and clean. This site shows my ability to work with images on a web page and to create interesting yet professional link rollovers.
CSS Zen Garden Submission
This website was designed as a submission to the CSS Zen Garden website. The Zen Garden project is an exploration in the possibilities offered by CSS. The website provides HTML coding and invites designers to apply their own CSS to it. For this project, I wrote all of my own CSS coding while not adjusting the basic page structure. This project gave me experience working with predefined restrictions in coding. The final product meets all site requirements for submission.
MFA Resources :: Creative Writing
This site is a resource page I made for students interested in applying to Master of Fine Arts programs in creative writing. I compiled a list of programs in the United States and included brief annotations summarizing each program. Also included on the page is a list of tips for students looking to apply to MFA programs. This site was later repurposed to be included on a resource page for professional writers at Michigan State University.
